PRIVACY POLICY
We collect nothing.
A short, honest privacy policy for the Meshtrike app, the MeshGRID add-on and this website. Last updated October 2026.
- No accounts
- No analytics
- No crash reporting
- No internet permission
- No cookies
- No third-party requests
The Meshtrike app
The Meshtrike app collects nothing about you and sends nothing to us. There is no Meshtrike server for it to send anything to.
- No internet permission. The app does not hold Android’s internet permission, so it cannot reach the internet at all. This is checked automatically on every build.
- No accounts. No phone number, email or name is needed. Your identity is a set of keys created on your phone, which never leave it.
- No analytics, no telemetry and no crash reporting. Nothing about how you use the app is recorded or sent anywhere.
- Your messages stay yours. Messages are sealed end to end on your phone before they leave it. Phones that carry them for you hold only sealed envelopes they can’t read, and can’t tell who they are for. Your messages and contacts are stored only on your phone, in a database sealed with your PIN.
- Location, when maps arrive. The planned map feature will work out your position from satellites only, which transmits nothing. Sharing a place is always your choice and goes only to the people you send it to.
The MeshGRID add-on
MeshGRID is optional. It adds Wi-Fi Direct between nearby phones and a private internet route over the Nym mixnet.
- It only ever carries messages that were already sealed on your phone, so it cannot read them.
- It has no accounts, no analytics and no crash reporting, and sends nothing to us.
- The internet route is off by default. When you turn it on, sealed messages travel through the Nym mixnet, which is run by independent operators. Like any internet connection, the first Nym node your phone connects to can see your IP address, but not what you send or who it is for.
This website
- It sets no cookies, has no analytics and no trackers, and loads nothing from third parties: fonts, scripts and images are all served from this site. Its security policy even forbids the pages from making network requests of their own.
- The verify page checks an APK on your own device. The file is never uploaded.
- The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log technical information about visits, such as IP addresses, for security and operations. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
Downloads
APK files are downloaded from GitHub Releases, so GitHub’s privacy statement applies to those downloads too. You don’t need a GitHub account. You can also get the app from someone nearby: one APK works on any number of phones, and you can check any copy on the verify page.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page and its history will be visible in the public repository. Questions go to GitHub issues; security problems through private reporting.
